Re: teachingadvantage.com

This "company", based in Michigan, USA, at least according to what they write on their site, charges each "applicant" something like USD 500.00 in advance to find the applicant a job in China. That is outrageous and most likely a 100% scam. An applicant will pay the money and never see a real job, IMHO.

Why should anyone, but anyone, pay an agency to find a job in China of all places -- the job market in China for ESL teachers, with all of its shortcomings, is red hot. There are probably 3-5 jobs if not more for every applicant. Many schools / training centers / etc., particularly in the hinterland of China and in the poorer regions simply cannot find applicants at all.

So, the question that needs to be asked is this : giving that everything in China revolves around "relationships", and whom one knows, I am at a loss, a 100% loss to understand, how a Michigan agency would, might, can, or should be able to find jobs in China with such ease.

Something doesn't add up here -- and I smell scam, big time, very time.

If it is not a scam, let them post the real email addresses, verifiable telephone numbers, etc., etc., of at least 10 - 20 of the "many" applicants that they have successfully and purportedly place in China.

Warnings, all, a big warning.
