As far as I can trace its linguistic origins, Ubuntu is from Zulu and means humanity or human kind. U- is a nominal word class prefix for abstract nouns in several Bantu languages, and the rest pertains to a word stem also quite common in many Bantu languages meaning "human person, people".
That's interesting ,thanks-I knew it had something to do with Africa.
