Things are never always consistent either. Loads of people still come here fresh from uni, rather than having the supposedly required 2 years experience, some cities ask for criminal record checks now, some don’t. I think I will do my police check in the summer even though I apparently won’t need it.

From what I’ve heard the PSB guys can sometimes be a tad incompetent, often not applying central visa policy in a uniform manner.
