History dictates you would be using it as such.Why should it be an insult?
Firstly, it should be 'wear' the shoe that fits you. Secondly, (either verb) the sentence makes no sense whatsoever given the context.However, I could not care less; take the shoe that fits you!
Your use of idiomatic language needs some serious work!
