I had a somewhat similar experience with Footprintrecruiting company located in Vancouver, Canada. The screening interview was friendly and brief for a position in UAE. I was told I would hear back in 2 weeks for the full interview. Then started receiving weekly generic messages starting with "Hi All" for 2 months asking clients to wait for a response before they completely stopped any contact. Meanwhile I was not being considered for other positions posted on the their website and my applications would be marked "Rejected". When I enquired they said "if there was an update we would have informed you". Shortly after, my Skype contact was deleted and profile removed.

Since then I worked with new recruiters and received relatively exceedingly better treatment and an offer within a month.
