It is a common term used in educational science, though used less frequently in English. No long-winded stuff, it is right-down-to-earth as it is a practical guide even for less trained teachers to write lesson plans that work well.

And you shouldn't come up with that silly story of a poor workman's low level of education again- either a teacher is educated or h/she is not!

Yes ,well, you should become more familiar with its unflattering uses.

It all must return to the fact that a well-read, degreeless and intelligent native English speaker has far more conversational English in his bonce to call upon than a well educated foreigner chappy. Take me for instance. hahaha!
