Re English teachers in China

Karine, you twice mentioned friends in "their" companies. Their children. Their cars. Their money. Their companies? Native language speakers routinely write "their employers" or "my employer" unless they have equity in the company. You can use the inclusive genitive 'their' in groups that are non-financial in nature: country, family, village. I'm sorry I misunderstood your writing.

I suspect that by "suggestion Theoretical contribution and Managerial contribution" you are expressing your belief that by writing your study you must attempt to improve and benefit the industry and their employees that are the topic of your academic research. This perspective is a charming mixture of altruism, innocence and Chinese educational 宣 思想 - proper ideology. Good luck with that.

I'm currently doing some academic research on Walt Whitman. I merely hope that it will increase my own understanding of his work. Poisoned by a Western education, I find learning to be its own reward, in need of no further prescriptive justification.

In academic research, you need to give suggestion Theoretical contribution and Managerial contribution. What's the point of my study if it doesn't try to improve the current situation in the companies for both companies and foreign employees? which btw one of the main suggestion is based on honesty and good regulation from the companies if they want to increase the recruitment of quality foreign teachers......

.... and I said "friends in companies" not "friends with companies".

I meant English teachers friends not owners of the companies. But yes I agree, trust and honesty should be the start of the relationship between foreign employees and Chinese Companies.

firms to improve their... recruitment process

Karine, perhaps you can advise your 'friends with companies' who recruit foreigners to be honest with their current and future employees. You could have modeled this honesty by fully disclosing your relationship with your friends' firms, something you failed to do in your original request for 'research' information.

Re English teachers in China

I've noticed that many foreigners come to China with different motivations but most of them become English teachers in kindergarten, learning centers or tutoring at home. Some foreigners have to deal with scams or abuse from agencies or their own firms. My friends told me that sometimes some foreigners come and work for few months in their company then suddenly leave because the job didn't match their expectations. So everyone looses time, energy and money along the process.

Since my major is in HR and Business Management Risks in Wuhan University of Technology, I wanted to do a research about this phenomenon, and find solutions on how to improve firms' recruitment process for a better match with the foreigners' expectations. I needed more information to make the research more reliable, relevant and interesting. This is why some questions are about salary range and profile of the teachers. I also made sure that respondent would be anonymous so there is no threat to answer to it. Only your opinion matters. There's no trap, it's just a survey for an academic research.

I wish that this study would help foreigners to be more aware of the Chinese firms' practice and also for the good firms to improve their working conditions and recruitment process to find quality English teachers not only based on the skin color or origin.

Anyway, thank you for your feedbacks. 8)
