In hindsight, my concorde post was a bit stupid, it burns too much fuel even taxiing to make it viable, and it is decomissioned now, never to fly again. I still think HS2 is a white elephant, however, it's only 45 mins or thereabouts from London to Manchester by plane. What is needed is better transport links from the airports to surrounding areas. It takes me almost as long to get to my hometown from Manchester Airport as it does to bleeding well fly there!!!!
