Qingdao is also quite horribly polluted...there was a terrible stench of sewage near one part of the harbour when I was there. Add in the surrounding industries from nearby Hebei and the air is mostly smoggy. That said I did enjoy the fact it has some german heritage, the Qingdao beer museum, and of course the good beer itself. That would not be enough to make me want to reside there however.
