Re My story

In Europe, those graduates from uni in the Humanities, in Social or Political Science have a reputation of becoming "academically qualified" taxi drivers or ending up in some dodgy foreign language "school" or school without any respectable reputation. This says something about those people themselves: They may good in the field they have graduated in ---- well, the "typical coffee house intellectual" ---- but for the rest may be unfit for life in general. This view is, of course, a stereotype that nevertheless may apply in some cases and that many employers and other people generally hold -at least in Europe.

Well, I graduated *partly* in the humanities and I certainly don't feel I should be obliged to accept a job flipping burgers just because David Cameron thinks I should be working, at any cost, in the UK. A university graduate should work in the field they have graduated in, imho, and not be forced to accept any job.
