Yeap, I don't think the Chinese would dare to start a war with the USA. In terms of tech, they would be wiped out.

Their naval power is in no way even comparable, the UK navy while being much smaller, is able to deploy globally as witnessed by the Falklands. China has a lot of catching up to do yet, but yes, this recent display of power is alarming.
