Re Mid-Autumn Holiday in China

I was stated somewhere that close proximity to the National Day holiday and the additional holiday was the reason for a lack of vacation time this year.

The usual holiday, which has been government mandated, does not seem to be enforced. Have the powers quietly replaced this tradition for the WWII day that we had off on the beginning of September this year?
