Face to Face conversation vs. Oration - Teachers Discussion

Your students are more advanced than mine.

Conversation or dialogue is supposed to be face to face or nearly so (2 meters). These big classes in China and Korea are difficult with that goal, so another reason I use Speaking Circle. I can't when chairs are screwed to the floor. Students will just not act naturally or participate fully if they have to raise their voices and converse across a crowded room. It becomes forced oration and few have experience or confidence with this.

We or local teachers need to let the students practice oration as a separate goal, to build confidence. I don't do enough of this as it feels like pulling teeth with shy girls.

2nd Thought: Try showing your class the lesson I posted November 8 2005, Alot is not a word, it's two.
