Well, some of them built the railroads across the US and were treated like slaves. Not very
funny!

The United States was built on the original sins of African slavery and the premature graves of millions of indigenous Native Americans, and yes, built on the labor of Chinese and other immigrant groups that were abused by the ancestors of the early Western European settlers.

None of this history is funny. But all of these people are worthy of respect and acknowledgement for their contributions to the wealth and comfort that most U.S. citizens now enjoy, including myself.
