Given the stock market gyrations in China this week, it is also valuable to consider the Western cultural concept of "The Free Market". Citizens of developed Western nations possess a potent mixture of capitalist ideology and Economics ignorance that fuel their approbation of China's attempts at "Financial Markets with Chinese Characteristics".

I am neither a sociologist nor an economist. But I suspect that politicians in Beijing and Washington and London and Berlin are equally unqualified in both fields, despite their proclivity to use economic jargon in support of their financial and political self-interest.
