Re colossal wreck, boundless and bare

I'm unaware of the nature of European and third-world criticism of China. I'm limited to reading the English language barrage from U.S., England and Commonwealth commentators. In my personal observations, U.S. citizens have little interest in the status of Taiwan and HK. Most of my countrymen cloak their fear of becoming the #2 world power in their stubborn delusions of U.S. exceptionalism in democratic processes and personal freedom. Our embarrassing ignorance of the world precludes any interest in England's or any other nations' politics.

It appears to me that Taiwan and HK are sores in the psyche of the Queen's domestic and now foreign legions; no one in the U.S., other than the Falun Gong loonies, really care about either region.

As in most conflicts, our personal outrage informs us mostly about ourselves.
