Re Chinese government school exams

Well, I did as I jokingly suggested and put it on the screen in the classroom. I deliberately chose my most senior students who all have a good grasp of English.....

After studying the question for a few minutes, the general comments were 'It doesn't make sense.'

It wasn't until I EXPLAINED the joke that they saw the funny side.

Re Chinese government school exams

"So sad" 'cause kids in China can't develop in a few other essential areas at all. In some (perhaps many) high schools, they study 6, sometimes 7 day weeks that includes evenings too and get tested almost every week. The saddest thing then is the tests themselves.

So sad ! I really feel sorry for these kids sometimes. Many of them don't have a sense of humour because they don't have TIME to develop one!

...............and the crazy thing is...........

Put this little cartoon up on a PPT in the classroom and tell the students that this is their exam. Then see how long it takes before they actually REALIZE that it's a joke!
