Every year millions of Chinese women marry the man that was chosen for them at birth. There is no love, they just hope and pray that they may FALL in love at some later stage.

After that, he will be lucky to see her sweet ass once a year. So off he goes to find his 'er nai'. Wifey gets jealous and files for divorce. Now she has her sweet ass dumped, sprog in hand, looking for another suitor. No self-respecting Chinese male will accept a woman who has another man's kid. Even if he did, his family won't accept it because filial piety is paramount.

Therefore she has no alternative but to seek the more accommodating western male.

Then there are the 'Sheng Nv' - the 'leftover women'. Women who are successful, single, and over 30! They won't get a Chinese husband because she earns more in a month than he could only dream of earning in a year. God forbid that a wife earns more than her Chinese husband!
