The Thais and Chinese do not. Any place that makes it diificult for Westerners to live or work needs to be avoided. Vote with your feet and wallet!

Most definitely. It remains to be seen how long Vietnam will remain easy for foreigners, from all accounts it is getting harder to stay long term with less stress now. I long suspected the Thais would make it harder, and they are doing so with regards to visas and general hostility towards foreigners and so on. The major problem with China/Thailand is, when a western girl dresses in a bikini or a western guy gets in a fight, we are immoral and violent and so on. No mention of their own loose attitudes towards sex (prostitution, premarital sex) amongst them, or their own violent xenophobic males who like to attack a single foreigner or small group of foreigners when drunk. I would never set foot in either place again, and would only go through HK begrudgingly if it was for a work visa for Taiwan or something. That place has gone really downhill too!!!!
