Re 5,000 British High School Pupils to Start Intensive Mandarin Course
Overseas Chinese and Made In China may be the reasons behind the drive. It's a simple cause and effect just as it was when English was introduced in China. Interestingly though that Chinese that've learnt English in their homeland may be learning Chinese outside their (their family members) territories now.
