Re 5,000 British High School Pupils to Start Intensive Mandarin Course

India is also a democracy, China is not.

Good points.

It remains to be seen if China's authoritarian model which has previously delivered this massive growth, can now deliver the entrepeneurship and individuality to start businesses and further growth. You can say the chinese have done well in things like mobile phones, lenovo and so on, but that is really all. No really unique business ideas or startups. It can be argued the stifling methods of education and group think in the work units, do not foster creativity and thinking out of the box, which is so essential to exceptionalism.
