Re: Adverse comments ALC Yemen - Teachers Discussion

It is true. This school went out of business without providing its students with their diplomas. The owner fled the city and left behind a pile of debt and angry students.

Atlas Mates!

My mate worked at this school and agrees that they were of a bad character. Also it's no longer in business we hear.

Re: Adverse cmments ALC Yemen - Teachers Discussion

Here is an e-mail which I received today(I have never met the person who sent it.)

Title - ALC Yemen.

Hey Buddy,

If it makes you feel even a little better to know that the school that stiffed you is no longer in business.

They went out of business and most students didn't receive their diplomas and are furious.

She's ruined herself and hurt and used many students and employees I hear.

What goes around comes around.

Cheers!!!

Jess

Adverse cmments ALC Yemen - Teachers Discussion

The person who comments so adversely on the operations of the ALC and the character of the owner should be ashamed of himself or herself to post such disgusting comments. Both the school, staff and owners are absolutely beyond reproach and are very professional and extremely nice people indeed. It is not their fault if so-called teachers of english present themselves in the most beautiful way, are recruited, but on arrival demonstrate not to have any idea about how to teach the english language, how to behave themselves properly in a foreign country, and think they can bluff their way through with a lot of hot air and nothing else.

ALC Aden Yemen - Teachers Discussion

(This school is NOT Mali or Amideast and has nothing to do with America.)

Last December the two foreign native english speaking teachers were both fired on the same day( one day before we were due to be paid, meaning the school gets two months - 30 hours a week - free teaching.)
No reason was given for the dismissals.

We were told that we would receive no money whatsoever for the last month ($800 each) that we had worked and that we should give them our passports so that we could get an exit visa. The exit visa was obtained and we were given a PHOTOCOPY of the exit visa. They held the passports. This was, presumably, an attempt at intimidation - the idea was that if we made trouble about the $1600 owed (for work done) then we would not get our passports back.

The school is run by one Areen Haddad - a very cunning liar, thief and cheat.
