Re: Re what stays in vegas

At least CA, OR, WA, CO, NM, and maybe NV.

Vancouver BC has a lot of affinities with these states.

Of course, these states represent all the West Coast, and the rest of the US would never allow them to secede because it needs the military bases along the coast of CA, mostly San Diego. But otherwise, these states have all they need in order to be independent, starting with a great governor in CA.

How many of those votes came out of California? I'd guess about half. Do Californians represent all of America?

Time for California (the 6th largest economy in the world), Oregon, Washington State and Western British Columbia to become a new country, (Cascadia) and to tout their "liberalism" on the world stage. Silicon Valley entrepreneurs are ready to finance such a push.

Cascadia is a bioregion and possible proposed country located within the western region of North America. Potential boundaries differ, with some drawn along existing political state and provincial lines, and others drawn along larger ecological, cultural, and economic boundaries.
The country might consist of Washington, Oregon, portions of other U.S. states and British Columbia, Canada. At its maximum extent, Cascadia would stretch from coastal Southeast Alaska in the north into Northern California in the south, and inland to include parts of Idaho, Western Montana, Wyoming, and Yukon. More conservative proposed borders include the land west of the crest of Cascade Range, and the western side of British Columbia.

As of Nov 15: "Clinton leads President-elect Donald Trump by nearly 800,000 votes nationally with a final count still pending"

"California Sen. Barbara Boxer files long shot bill to scrap the Electoral College system"

Good news in principle. Might work but we have to remember that some 500 attempts have been made in the past century and a half to modify the College; none ever worked.

"Her bill calls for an amendment to the Constitution that would end the Electoral College system. Should such a thing pass, the amendment would only take effect if ratified by three-fourths of the states within seven years after its passage in the U.S. Congress."

Indeed. Moreover, he actually only got a small percent of the eligible votes when it's taken into consideration that less than half of said voters even voted. Not exactly a mandate.

Nevertheless, it is what it is and, moving forward, we can expect some good to come of it and some bad. We can only hope that the bad doesn't sink an already floundering ship.

The failed American elections aren't about Hillary's but the system's faults.

Also, remember that Hillary won the popular vote, by some 400,000 votes. She lost the election because of the way the electoral college is structured. Not because the majority of voters preferred the orange thing.

That will be of huge consolation to her, I'm sure!
