I once met a young hippy type bloke from France with dreadlocks et al, not sure if he had a degree or not, but he was teaching in a kindergarten. I can't stand teaching little kids, but for the public school jobs there you need a state teaching licence if you are from the USA, or a pgce or qts if you are from the UK. It is different than China in terms of requirements. A degree is still a way in to get a job there however, just have to find something in between a kindergarten and the better public schools, I s'pose?
