Re: The Divided States of America

It seems that Trump has already gone back on many of his election promises and he's not even in office yet!

Re: The Divided States of America

And this dichotomy is felt at the personal level in most people in America: Dems can't stand red necks and red necks can't stand dems. The repulsion is real. And it's not decreasing with time. It's increasing according to polls: the two groups don't trust each other. One thing people have in common: They accept the results of elections. It's a big thing. Otherwise, only a major conflagration could unite people and nobody wants that to happen: There must be a way for people who dislike each other so much to live in peace together. Most of the latest nominations of trump are disheartening. For example, he put a guy who is allied to the fossil industry to be in charge of the Environment Protection Agency: We are talking about the air that our children will breath in the coming decades. How can a person who understands the implications of such a choice feel at peace with such a tragedy?
