Re what a combo!

Good luck whether you stay or you
leave, and I do truly believe you when you say you want out. I hope you do get out,
sincerely meant.

Cheers mate!

Re what a combo!

The forum needs you ,Migsy, you have interesting things to say. You have probably more right to be here than me as I am no longer an FT.

Re what a combo!

I think I would rather just stop posting on these boards, nothing personal against you, my time here is clearly done now, especially in light of the fact that I am no longer in China, I feel I have nothing to contribute, and I have no desire to go back to that abysmal place, which I have made clear in other posts. Good luck whether you stay or you leave, and I do truly believe you when you say you want out. I hope you do get out, sincerely meant.

Good luck F, and others, manhole clunks right back in,

Re what a combo!

I do not know why you
feel the need to teach others how to cook, if someone likes to eat lanzhou lamian each
lunchtime...let them do so.

I don't feel a 'need' at all, and I'm certainly NOT getting 'bent out of shape'. Taffy was the one who expressed an interest in cooking and I offered to help him.

You are proof that FT's in China are bitter, competitive, and always rail against each other.

I'm also not 'bitter' - 'bitter' towards what?
I'm here for a reason, and ONE reason only..... to make as much money as I possibly can in the shortest possible time.
Quite frankly, I don't give a flying f*ck about the system, and I deliberately stay away from bars and clubs - especially those that are frequented by pathetic FT's who live from paycheck-to-paycheck.
I am looking after 'number 1' and to hell with the rest. In the meantime, if I can help a fellow FT improve his/her existence in China by teaching them how to cook some stuff that they can't buy in the shops, what's wrong with that?

I have no 'hidden agenda', and, like many of you, I can't wait to get the hell out of this shit-hole. However, my goal must be reached before I leave, and it will be....

If you have genuinely misunderstood my motives, I genuinely apologise.

Re what a combo!

You are proof that FT's in China are bitter, competitive, and always rail against each other. That place is toxic, I am glad I am out. If you cook at home, good for you, I did sometimes when I was in China, other times I did not. It is up to the person if they like cooking or not, it is nothing to get bent out of shape about, I do not know why you feel the need to teach others how to cook, if someone likes to eat lanzhou lamian each lunchtime...let them do so.

Re what a combo!

Do not eat 'em anymore (for the simple reason, I cannot acquire them anymore!) not that I
have to justify MYSELF to you, what are you, another Jamie Oliver who thinks we should
be eating vegetarian stuffing and nut roast on christmas day or something? Also cannot
get vb here, so no, not eating or drinking either of those aussie things. Hope that
clarifies and thins things out, satisfied?

I wasn't asking for justification, Migsy, I was merely offering my opinion on Mrs Mac pies and VB, which just happens to be the opposite of yours.
As for the Jamie Oliver and nut roast 'quips', quite the opposite.

I previously commented to Taffy that 'Ginsters' pies are awesome - a far cry from the likes of Mrs Mac's - and, since living in China, I have had to learn to COOK (or MAKE) the things I miss from 'back 'ome'. Nothing 'Jamie Oliverish' about that.

People living in China, who bemoan the fact they can't buy a good pie, have 2 options - stop complaining or go make your own. Pretty simple, eh?

Re what a combo!

And I used to love mrs macs
pies, easy to microwave, for a quick snack.

Mrs Mac's Pies.......OMG......The perfect example of food poisoning on steroids. They used to have this advertising campaign - 'If it ain't Mrs Mac's, take it back'.

A couple of years ago it became known as - 'If it IS Mrs Mac's, take it back'.

Eating God-awful food is the perfect time to drink God-awful beer. Do you and Pigsy feel no shame?

I can seriously think of nothing worse than a Mrs Mac's pie and a can of VB.

Re what a combo!

Perfect combination I would say!

Wellcome supermarket in HK used to sell VB, cannot remember now if it was just bottles only or cans as well. I think they definitely had the bottles. And I used to love mrs macs pies, easy to microwave, for a quick snack. Never had the pleasure of trying a pie floater, Anthony bourdain and Billy Connolly have both raved about it when they visited Aus, I think that is a food of "everyman", you could even go so far as to say that it embodies what Aus is all about, beer and good food with your mates, and everyone being the same. Great photo!!
