Yes, they will allocate their preferences from 1 to 5, or 1 to 8 depending on the number of
candidates. In a national election there could be seventy candidates, but I doubt many
people number each square from 1 to 70.

Agree. In Australia I always vote for one candidate only. The way they keep manipulating the system is pathetic.
