Yes, ESL teaching is a JOB and NOT a CAREER. In much the same way as a bricklayer lays bricks, a tiler lays tiles, and so an ESL teacher teaches! (or deeches, lol)

I don't see anyone complaining that trades-people are 'losers' because they don't have a 'career'. What's the difference?

ESL teaching is a 'trade' and nothing else. We are all sub-contractors and not 'employees' !

However, if it serves a purpose then who really cares? I've certainly got nothing to complain about.
