Re "Success"

What should never be
empty
are one's brain and heart.

My point exactly. That's why I said 'rubbish'. One's basket is NEVER empty.

Re "Success"

Good, clear thinking, as a friend of mine used to say.

Thanks, Caring. Have a great year.

And also, people change a lot. People think differently and have different values, needs, tastes and dreams, from decade to decade but mostly from childhood to adolescence and then from mature work life to retirement when values change dramatically. Once in a while, I look at my journals of 20 years ago: What I was considering "success" then was mostly the rat race: go faster, always faster, go further ahead than the next guy, get that VP title before my friends get theirs. 80% of my values were materialistic.

Re "Success"

What fulfils one may not be acceptable for another. The topic is subjective and poster affected by his personal feelings. Success may be when one is able to see beyond his/her "own basket" which may or may not be empty. What should never be empty are one's brain and heart.

Success is when you are in a personal stable situation yourself so that you are able to help others. There is nothing you can give if your own basket is empty.
