being a man

Our pivotal formative years are in our early youth. It is during those years that gender roles are 'learned' from observation and non-judgemental attention to our parents. Every girl is a link in an endless birth chain of mother-daughter-mother back to the Mitochondrial Eve; much of the nurturing maternal role of being a woman is innate. Every son, however, is a link in a cultural chain learned from his father and passed on to his son. Misogyny is part of this 'cultural inheritance'. Violence against women is NOT innate. It is learned.

Some men should not have sons. Some should not have children. Some should not marry.
