Re Theresa May to seek snap election for 8 June

Public rather than their politicians should decide when the elections are held. Your Mother Theresa is just manipulating her people. She sees an opportunity and she has a motive to put her agenda in front as soon as she's re-affirmed in the office. The current British government is planning to play markets and politics in two sides of the world, the US and China rather than the EU where Germans are dominating. Anyhow, Mother Theresa needs more time than she would get without the elections to make sure the double game's set.

She needs a change of name in the light of the date of the upcoming election imo.
How about Teresa June? That'd be apt. She'd definitely go down in history if she took my advise.

Haha! i was wondering if we can flog the yanks some sort of female leader.

As things stand, they may be be interested in one. Dunno about her though. I don't think she is the kinda woman they would be interested in.

I think it's a good thing. Brexit is one of the most important events of the last couple of centuries (not only for the UK but for Europe also). It should not be decided based on a razor-thin majority. Mostly with millions of Brits going to Google in the evening AFTER the referendum, typing "what is the European union".
But holding a snap election, in itself, seems to require a two thirds majority. I hope it passes on Wednesday.
Well, googling "what is the European union". was a choice of words to enable people to get more information on the EU; I'm sure it didn't mean that millions din't know essentially what the EU is.

Teresa May should get on with getting us out of Europe not delaying with general elections. It was her party who decided on the referendum in the first place.

She said Britain needed certainty, stability and strong leadership following the EU referendum.
Explaining the decision, Mrs May said: "The country is coming together but Westminster is not."
Opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn said his Labour Party wanted the election, calling it a chance to get a government that puts "the majority first".
There will be a vote in the House of Commons on Wednesday to approve the election plan - the prime minister needs two thirds of MPs to vote in favour to hold a vote before the next scheduled election date of 2020.
