Pairs work - Teachers Discussion

You should be able to find lots of oppurtunities for pairs work. Job interviews, yearly employee evaluations (good and bad) ordering supplies by phone, etc, should cover most of what you are looking for. You can demo a good and a bad example of each.
Also, assign each a topic (related to what they do in their office, ie, finance, materials management, HR) for presentation in class. 10 minutes each should be long enough. Give the topic and assigment in the first class so they have a few days to work on it. You could even have a practice year end business meeting in which each person needs to report on their division.

With such a short series of classes, you won't be able to help much with a lot of grammar or vocab, but maybe with giving the presentations and mannerisms. You can however give each of them a one page glossary of vocab related to what that specific person does, and they can study and learn from that in their own time. Having a small group like that affords you to be able to do that.

Business English course/resource - Teachers Discussion

Hello

I have been asked to prepare a 6 hr course for a small [6] group of German business people of mixed ability, although I suspect most of them will be intermediate upwards...

The course is part of a larger cultural communication training session and these are the objectives that will be covered

1.Appointing a New Subordinate

2.A Subordinate who is Doing Good Work

3.A Subordinate who is Doing Poor Work

4.Equipment or Machinery Needs Replacement

5.Another Department Does Not Provide Resources/Support

6.Differing Opinions within the Department

7.You see the need to Introduce New Work Procedures

8.The Time Comes to Evaluate New Work Procedures

My intention was to cover language used in the above contexts in order to prepare them for the remainder of their training session, ideally with some sort of case study involved where they are working towards a clear objective

Can anyone make suggestions, point me in the right direction for possible resources etc...?

Your help will be greatly appreciated
