Re: Teacher licensure online??

By the way, the University of Southern Queensland is one of the best in the world in terms of distance learning programs.

Just thought you should know.

Re: Teacher licensure online??

Hi there!

Try the Open University of England. They have PGCE programs and their study method is by distance learning or online.
Another excellent option, (the one I would choose), is the University of Southern Queensland in Australia. They have a PGCE program in Teaching second languages and you can even continue to an MA if you want to. Their method is also by distance learning or online.

Hope this helps and friendly greetings from your neighbour in Magdeburg.

Cheers!

Teacher licensure online??

Greetings. I am teaching English at a Berlin international school, but have no formal education degree (my masters is in writing for the theater). I'm cleared to teach only through 10th grade, and Germany has demanded that I get a certification to teach 11-12 before I can take on upper-secondary classes here. But I have a family and can't live elsewhere for a semester or longer to do student teaching or take classes. Does anyone know of a program out there to gain a teaching certification that does not require long-term residency? Either intensive summer study or online classes seem best. I know of only two at present, through George Mason University and The College of New Jersey, but neither one so far fits my needs. Thanks!
