I have several years of teaching esl and have decided to go to China(Shanghai).
I have been in contact with a recruiter and it seems that only half of my questions are being answered. She is very nice however and I feel like she is really trying to help me.
I'm told that September 1st is the deadline for getting a government job? Is there only one deadline a year? I'm also told that I can go anytime if I want to teach at a training school. What is a training school?
I also want to know if 6000rmb is a fair salary... And what amount of money will I need to expect to pay out of my pocket for visas and other obligations before I begin?
Will the school provide an apartment?
Can I live alone?
Can I teach all of my classes at the same location?
Is 20 classes a week a normal load?
I don't want to be overly cautious, but comfortably prepared.
