Chinese traditional and folk medicine are one and the same. TCM is hardly limited to the Yellow Emperor's Classic! There have been thousands of books written on TCM over the centuries.

TCM is mostly unproven at this point. If it comes up, that's what I say. It's a simple of matter of "You want to eat raccoon dung because you think it will make you horny, fine. But there's no proof or even reason to believe it."

It's not being on a crusade. If a student told me the earth is flat or the sun revolves around the earth, should I say, "Chinese folk beliefs are fascinating. Tell me more about this; I wish to learn from you."? NO! I'd say, "My friend, get with the program!"
