Re: Needed?

Fish,I'm not computer-literate,so I don't know how to start a new thread.Would you be so kind as to help me?I'd like to start one re the existence or non-existence of the word "recruiter", and its meaning. You see,my Longman's Advanced American Dictionary of 2003,English-English,published by the "FOREGN LANGUAGE TEACHING PRESS" in the PRC doesn't have that word in it!
The ESL board uses the word in a phrase "Schools and Recruiters".So,we can deduce that what is meant by a recruiter on the board is a recruiting agency as opposed to a school, being a direct employer.
But if recruiter does in fact exist,I believe it would have either meaning,ie simply an employer, who may or mayn't be an agent.
I think the use of the word "recruiter" and "school" in the same phrase is not so good.Better to replace the former with "recruiting agency".Then the distinction between the two is clearer.
