If your prior teaching experience isn't relevant to the position, it is not something which is a major plus for you.

On the upside though, most training centers will hire anybody with a pulse that comes along. You should have little problem as long as you are white. Good luck.

I'm very interested in applying for an ESL postion in Jakarta. My teaching experience/training has been through the military and I have at least 1000 hours of instructor time. Problem is I have no diploma or ESl certificate. Is there a chance that I could get a posting from my experience alone?
