Hi Elly,

It just depends on how big the school is. Of course Spanish will be an option but as far as high schools offering other latin languages it depends on size and funding. Unfortunately languages and art programs are those first to be cut by schools wanting to save money. It is popular in the states to have "school of choice" which means students can decide to go to any school in the area. If the area your son is going has that option I would urge you to check the schools against eachother to see what options are available in terms of language study. Good luck;)

Your English is fine and totally understandable. In most high schools in America they normally have a Spanish class. I don't know about latin but I am sure some of them do.

Hello, my name is Elly. I live in Germany and my son would like to go for a year in an American Highschool. My question: is it common in Highschool to learn Latin language. Here in Germany he learned Latin Language for 3 Years. Im sorry that my English isnt better. I hope youve understood and that you will be able to answer my question. Thanks a lot.
