Re: A new world order?

A very illuminating article! Many thanks! Unfortunately, I have to agree woth most of the theories put forth within, especially those of Fareed Zakariah. I had so many amazing experiences during my 5 years in China, but I also beacme aware that the rest of the world should be VERY fearful of China becoming the dominant global economic power. In my opinion, that would be an enormous disaster, on several levels. The West must discard the old economic models and innovate new ways to remain on top. Thanks so much for making this important essay available to ESLTB readers!

A new world order?

The posts on Happy Birthday China and China's 'dollar' holdings set me thinking. This article is worth reading if you think capitalism is on the brink of collapse. One key message here is that although America will still be dominant economically it will, alongside other western countries, have to cooperate more with countries it previously looked down upon. Read it yourself and make up your own mind.
