i don't doubt this is true and i've posted similar topic just couple weeks ago on this site. in fact, i got my story from HK news where they mentioned guangzhou as THE CITY with the contaminated milk products. i bet the local authorities in guangzhou have it all tight..even their media as there's little or nothing on the topic. my interest in is coz my one and a half year old son drinks so much milk every day. looks like there's little i can do to protect him as the local authorities seem to be protecting the producers names. they'll put their blames forward after a few more kidney complaints are generated. reading the local media "stories" won't help much, will it?

Is this true that there was another tainted powder milk scam again there in China? The name of the company is not the same as the one that was first caught but it may be owned by it. I see no one has learned the lesson of the past.

Contaminated milk powder producers arrested

Three suspects have been arrested and one pending trial for selling milk powder contaminated with melamine.
Lekang Diary Corporation, located in Weinan, Shaanxi Province, is alleged to have added 10 tons of expired milk powder contaminated with melamine to its own products.
The contaminated milk powder was sold to producers in Guangdong and Fujian in South China, according to reports citing a news conference held by Shaanxi Provincial Public Security Bureau.
Four and a half tons of milk powder has been destroyed under supervision of the Quality Supervision Department in Weinan City on January 22.
China has been plagued by milk scandals since 2008, which caused health problems in around 300,000 , according to the Ministry of Health.
The province is now recalling their remaining products in the market.
