Re: Car Industry in China

Friendman, this Chinese company is apparently based in Sichuan and it has had the money, the place and agreements signed, except its Beijing application for the license to get this deal nailed is turned down. The reasons for this declined business application might be really interesting, although most likely secretive somewhere in a smoky room.

On topic of other cars in China, the Toyota has just recalled RW4s in Shenzhen and its customers are complaining for the inconveniece that the company (in China) isn't paying for their transportation to the dealer reasoning that the Americans do not have to pay.

Cheers and beers to the pride of American army the HumVee vehicle as well as cheers and beers to recalls that offer full tank of gas and a beef stake with a cold one while waiting :)

Re: Car Industry in China

Back in '06 Malcolm Bricklin (remember the Fiat and Yugo?) was trying to get the Jilli on track for marketing in the U.S., but he couldn't get the Chinese mfr to meet U.S. specs. That's all history now.

A Chinese company was in negotiations with the manufacturer of the HumVee to purchase its operations. It was announced just last week that that deal fell through.

It'll be interesting to see what comes up next.
