Re: a real rollercoaster ride of ups and downs?!

I think any girl at the FT's own school is completely off limits. To date a student from the same school is simply unprofessional and 100% unnecessary. The professional behavior of the teacher, even personal behavior that is related to the job, is certainly the schools business.

I agree with what you have posted here.

I'm pretty sure if you were to do the above mentioned as a teacher in the public school system in Hong Kong or the UK, you would at the very least be facing disciplinary procedures, but most likely joining the unemployment benefits queue and blacklisted from working as a teacher ever again. If it is not tolerated in societies with common law and the rule of law, why should we expect things to be any different here where we are gast-arbeiter and non permanent residents and the law is less fixed?

I would disagree but only because you limit it to the FT's own classes. I think any girl at the FT's own school is completely off limits. To date a student from the same school is simply unprofessional and 100% unnecessary. The professional behavior of the teacher, even personal behavior that is related to the job, is certainly the schools business. To limit it to only their own classes ignores the fact that he has developed personal relationships with his coworkers. A teacher will probably be able to exert pressure and control over a student that's not in his class, or grant them favors, through those relationships. If a FT is simply after young tail, he can always park outside other schools: this would remove the power differential and also allow the students he chases to identify him as the predator he is. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.
