Re: ESL in Spain, Alicante

I can tell you from having family and friends who live in Alicante this much. It is not a CHEAP place to live. Rent alone could destroy you unless your employer is covering it. Not to mention all the local taxes and such that have to be paid. Despite 20+ years of development thing's don't operate the same as in the UK/other anglo countries, and you will have many palms to grease, when you least expect it.

A wonderful place, but go with as much money in your bank as you can.

Re: ESL in Spain, Alicante

1- plan and research as much as possible
2- network with esl teachers already in spain
3- expect low salaries, 9 to 10 euros hr
4- madrid is expensive and there are not many affordable living places to rent, go to small cities, towns
5- most important: at the beginning, Take any opportunity and grow your network as much as you can
