@ Silverboy: I lived in Changsha for a while, which while not being great, I infinitely preferred over Hefei and Nanchang. Hefei was just a terrible place from what I saw of it, horribly polluted, underdeveloped, terrible traffic conditions, locals with poor manners. I would say Nanchang is slightly better, but not much. There is some stuff to do in the downtown, but you would have to be living in the downtown...and it is still not anything like Shenzhen or Shanghai or the more developed cities. I would say stay away.

Not sure of Wuhan as I never visited, but I hear good and bad things about it.

Maybe we can all post comments/reviews of recommended cities to live? I personally rate Hangzhou and Ningbo, but others may disagree.
