Re DO NOT APPLY TO *Profiled Recruiter* -- Govt. runs High school ESL positions in Jiangsu Province(Nantong, Suqian)

Wow!! How many foreign teachers are there? One would assume that middle school kids are the most behaived in China because of their high workload. Do you work with poorer segments of society or with kids who could not make it to more elite schools? At the middle school where I taught last year, the students were well behaved.
can you please tell me more about your experience there.

Well the school is actually in a tiny town called Haimen.

No other foreigners in the town. Nothing at all to do in the town. The school ignores all problems with the foreign teachers. No one at the school will talk to the english teachers because their english is so poor and they must *save face*

The management is a joke. One doesn't know how to do her job and the others are too busy furthering their own career and are always "too busy" (but isn't this always the case?)

They might also tell someone the town is close to Shanghai. It is not.

The children are insane. Many tear their desks apart, fight in class, swear at the teachers. 90 percent will never leave their city so do not care about learning english anyways and will make it known to you.

There is nothing wrong with the recruiter, just the school.

You have to be more specific about what happened. I have dealt with these guys before, in fact for all my jobs in China, and they have been pretty honest and straight forward. As a recruiter, in my experience, they are not bad at all. I know of several teachers who have had very good results with them.
If they did not come throught with what was promised, then please let us know. If the school that you are at does not come through, please let us know as well. Once a recruiter sends you to a school, you have to deal with the school itself.
I've worked at several schools in China, and I know alot of the good and the very bad as well. In general, training centers are garbage (been there) and recruiters are not far behind. But with these guys, they have not been too bad.

Changzhou Hengshaoqiao High School, any info? (jobhopper) Show text
What's the score re teaching and living there? Would the job and the city be bearable
relative to the average gig teaching in China?

Are they one and the same?
