Re Take The Pledge

I had a career in the USA, which I quit a few months ago to return to China. The principal at the school I worked thought that I was nuts to leave a full time jobs with benefits.
I just got fed up with my state firing people every couple of years when the economy went south to only hire them again when the economy improved. I have better job security in China than I do in the states; I still can't believe it. In China my gross pay is less than in the states, but my net pay is higher because I pay no taxes, rent, social security, etc. That, and I have three jobs waiting for me when I return.
But China does require better money management though. I have a few investments, and other options if the China thing does not work. With the U.S. dollar losing value everyday since they are printing so many, those Yuan will look better and better. Sorry, but at the moment I can't sign the pledge.
I believe that wages in China for foreign teachers will improve. My recruiter still can't find enough people to fill all her slots. Like those employees in Guangzhou that threw themselves off the roof to demand better wages, eventually they got better wages. Take care all.

Re Take The Pledge

Tired of crap? Only you can change it.

I am done with abuse and low wages.
I am done with helping a communist regime to be in a better position to take power.
I am done serving as cheap labor.
I am done living a sub-standard life.
I promise to leave China and to never return.
I promise to get myself into a better situation in life.

Book a ticket home, pack your bag and don't think twice about leaving. Its that simple.

Well is a better situation working in a hamburger joint? Because that's normally it for a retired FT once he returns home. I remember my final day at my job in England, somebody had illegally pasted an advert up on the toilet wall- before removing I read it, I never usually did, but it said- English teachers needed in China, experience not essential, good pay and conditions, your own fully furnished flat. I scrawled the number down on a piece of Richmond Upon Thames standard issue Izal toilet paper, threw the advert down the pan and flushed it, just as an inspector entered, yelling my name, Tom. He stood over one of the urinals pointing and asked what was inside. I replied, two dog-ends(fag-ends.) He screamed "YES, and the same two 777 State Express fag-ends have been there since yesterday" I suddenly lost it, I had had enough of his smug sarcasm, ten years enough. I ripped off my rubber gloves, throwing them in the urinal bowl atop the dog-ends and yelled back "stick them where the sun don't shine, I'm off to become a teacher in China!" I did, and have never looked back.

Re Take The Pledge

I am done with helping eastern countries with Luciferan systems with their injustice.

I am done with working in a shytty environment.

I am done with working with individuals who live their whole lives in denial and pretend everything is all right.

I am done with showing compassion, sympathy, and idealism to an amoral country who won't be reciprocal about it.

I am done with working in china.

I am done paying emotional tribute to asia even when I'm living back home just because people tell me I should because they are "different" and "diverse"

CC Spotter, I second this pledge!
