Re: teaching in Saudi Arabia

You really should heed Turnoi's words posted in his response.

I have just finished up a stint in another country near to the KSA, and come leaving time it is an unseemly scramble to get out of the desolation and the scorching heat, to cooler climes where one can enjoy a cheaper cold beer without risk of offending anyone or punishments. You will earn the money, but at what price? For the sale of your very soul!

If you like to make deals with the devil, and have no social life for a year, by all means, go ahead. But one only has to listen to the teachers come end of contract time to know that they would rather be anywhere else than there, with some even paying 50 percent extra just to get a flight out earlier.

On the lighter note, I heard the 50 quid fine for punching a KSA national out at Heathrow airport has been withdrawn. The police advise all returning UK expats to make their way to Oxford Road and get it out of their system there:)
