Re: Average RMB Salaries in China

I managed to find 10800rmb for 24 hours work a week in a great location and I am happy with that and yes its my first time coming to teach so anything is possible.

Bear in mind that will most likely be a training centre. A public job will be less hours and less stress.

Re: Average RMB Salaries in China

I think if you want more then keep looking, it took me 5-6 weeks to find a good paying school in a good location and then i got 2 great offers at the same time. Just research the institute before just to be sure there not throwing cash at you but making u work like a slave. I managed to find 10800rmb for 24 hours work a week in a great location and I am happy with that and yes its my first time coming to teach so anything is possible. Infact ive turned some schools down for them to come back and offer me more money! :) My opinion was 7000rmb minimum with accommodation provided, its going to be more than that for me so I am happy and I was also particular about my location so that did factor. I imagine if i didnt mind where i went i could have found something within a few weeks! Hope that helps.

"4,500 is the offer I received and it seems awfully low. Does that sound like enough to live on?"

Depends on the hours worked. Do bear in mind you are getting a free flat.

I'd try to get the figure around 5,500 rmb for a public job.

Average RMB Salaries in China

How much RMB is a good salary? I recently received a job offer that I really like. It is a university and they give a good private accommodation, two meals provided and only 18 work hours a week. I like this because it is Monday through Friday with a lot of vacation time. It gives me a good amount of time to explore China. My main reasoning in going is to experience a new culture, learn a new language, see some sights and to gain some great teaching experience. Money has never been a big issue but I see a lot of offers for 10,000 rmb or at least 8,000 rmb. 4,500 is the offer I received and it seems awfully low. Does that sound like enough to live on? I am not trying to save a lot of money but I would like to be able to save a little and live comfortably.
