Are you trying to return to teaching in Australia, or some other country? It can make a big difference...
Otherwise, I second what Turnoi said...the requirement for a CELTA, especially with your excellent qualifications and experience, may well not be universal. Keep trying other places.
With what you've got, making you get the added certificate is kind of like refusing to let you drive your Benz because you don't own a tricycle...pretty silly!
I am a qualified registered English/ESL high-school teacher. I have a Bachelor Degree and a Dip.Ed. I have worked as an ESL teacher in Sydney, but now that I am trying to go back to teaching English after having a child, I am told that I need another qualification - TESOL/Celta. It seems really unnecessary and expensive, besides the fact that I ALREADY KNOW HOW TO TEACH, ENJOY IT AND WANT TO GET BACK IN THERE!
