Re: Sending a Chinese school a copy of my passport

To answer your question. In order for the school to get you the invitation letter and work permit that you will need to get your working visa at the Chinese Embassy before going to China, they will need a scanned copy of the photo page of your passport.

Sending a Chinese school a copy of my passport

I have a question about sending someone a copy of my passport.

A private school in China is interested in hiring me as an ESL teacher, and in addition to my resume, they have asked for a copy of my passport and a copy of my diploma.

I'm OK with the diploma because it does not have much personal info except my name.

I'm not so sure about my passport. It doesn't have my SSN on it. I was surprised when I actually looked at it closely. It does have my date of birth, but I already had to tell them my age to make sure I was between 25 and 55.

Has anyone had their identy stolen from a photo copy of their passport?
